Engine – Room Resourse Management (management level)
The aim of this course is to train the engine room crew for duty. This course is intended for engineers of any class on board vessels of the river and sea fleet of ukraine. The result of taking the course is improved the level of the theoretical training and increased level of the practical control skills to automatism. The training is organized in the form of a set of theoretical and practical exercises at training facilities with periodic testing of the participants’ knowledge.
The result of the course is the solution of the task of competent and confident control of equipment by the members of the engine- room team. This task is solved by updating theoretical knowledge and developing confidence in the control of machines and mechanisms. Training conducted on control systems and management bodies of the main power plant and auxiliary mechanisms.
working out of tasks of different complexity in the engine room watch enables to improve interaction between crewmembers.The confidence in the actions is provided by training in mechanism control in complex operating conditions. The center’s simulators allows to imitate various difficulties associated IN the severe weather events.
The STCW Code requires not only varied training of crew members but also objective control of knowledge. The solution of this problem is provided by the simulators of our center. The evaluation of the training of engineers is based on the results of professional skills indicated in column 4 of Table 1 A-III/2 of the STCW Code.
By way of introduction, participants are introduced to the requirements of the STCW, MARPOL, SOLAS and the ISM Code. The acquaintance continues with the consideration of the composition of the following equipment:
- the simulator;
- master gauge;
- alarm installations and protection mechanism of the ENGINE – ROOM.
The main time of the course is aimed to the training of the operating skills of the engine room`s equipment. Except of the maine power plant various modes of operation of support systems and mechanisms are being worked out.
