Ship’s cook courses

Training program «Ship’s cook»:

  1. General professional training
  2. Professional-theoretical training includes:
  • technology of cooking and basis of merchandizing;
  • equipment eating establishments and galley’s equipment;
  • physiology of nutrition, sanitary and hygiene;
  • management of production and service;
  • accounting and reporting;
  • ship’s architecture;
  • organization of service on ships, damage control;
  • english (professional);
  • Occupational safety and health;
  • professional and practical training.

Technical base:

Cabinets:  

  • Technology of cooking and basis of merchandizing;
  • Ship’s architecture;
  • Life-saving appliances;
  • Fire fighting;
  • First aid;
  • Occupational safety and health;
  • English language and information technology.

 

Laboratory:

Kitchen Laboratory with Tasting Room.

Simulator-assisted practical training:

  • Using life-saving appliances;
  • Fire fighting.

 

Group:  maximum 10 students

The study can be organized in the morning and in the afternoon.

The course lasts 22 weeks including 7 weeks of sailing practice.

 

Certificates:

Those who have successfully completed the full course of education get the State diplomas with obligatory entering details into the State Register.

They also get the certificate of a qualified professional as “Ship’s cook” with qualification ship`s cook (IV grade).  

Certificate of the course “Safety Familiarization, Basic Training and Instructions for All Seafarers (STCW-78, VI/1)».

 

State authorities which have approved the training of qualified workers according to the State Standard of study of the SSTVE 5122.С.56.10-2016:

  • Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport;
  • Ministry of labour and social policy of  Ukraine;
  • Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine;
  • Inspection on training and certification of seafarers of  Ukraine.

Demands to the students of the course “Ship’s cook”:

  • Certificate of Technical and Vocational Education of a cook (III grade);
  • Proof of service as a cook (III grade) not less than 12 months;
  • Citizen’s passport;
  • Residence permit;
  • Foreign passport;
  • Medical certificate 086;
  • 3 photos 3×4, matte, no corner.
