Ship’s steward courses

Training program « Ship’s steward »:

1. General professional training.
2. Professional-theoretical training includes:

• Equipment of the passenger vessels;
• Ship’s steward works arrangement and techniques;
• Business ethics and passenger service culture;
• Ship’s architecture;
• Safety Familiarization, Basic Training and Instructions for All Seafarers;
• English (Professional vocabulary);
• Occupational safety and health;
• Ship Security;
• Professional and practical training.

Technical base:

Cabinets:

• Equipment of the passenger vessels;
• Business ethics and passenger service culture;
• Ship’s steward works arrangement and techniques;
• Ship’s architecture;
• Use of life-saving appliances;
• Firefighting;
• First aid;
• Occupational safety and health;
• English language and information technology.

Laboratory: Ship’s stewards.

Simulator-assisted practical training:

• Use of life-saving appliances;
• Firefighting.

Groups of less than 10 students. The study can be organized in the morning and in the afternoon.

The course lasts 23 weeks including 7 weeks of sailing practice.

Documents issued:

Those who have successfully completed the full course of education get the State diplomas with obligatory entering details into the State Register:

• Certificate of qualified worker in the profession of « Ship’s stewards »;
• Certificate of the course “Safety Familiarization, Basic Training and Instructions for All Seafarers (STCW-78, VI/1)»;
• Sailing enumeration census – 60 days.

State authorities which have approved the training of qualified workers according to the State Standard of study of the SSTVE 5111.ІО.62.00.2014:

• Ministry of education and science, youth and sports of Ukraine;
• Ministry of labour and social policy of Ukraine;
• Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine;
• Inspection on training and certification of seafarers of Ukraine.

Demands to the students of the course “Ship’s steward”:

• Full education;
• Age over 18;
• Passport of the citizen of Ukraine;
• Residence permit;
• Foreign passport;
• Medical certificate 086;
• 3 photos 3×4, matte, no corner.
